The Chenab Valley encompasses a picturesque river valley carved by the majestic Chenab River. Additionally, the term “Chenab Valley” is often employed to refer to the combined regions of Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban districts in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chenab Valley boasts stunning meadows, verdant forests, cascading waterfalls, picturesque valleys, hidden villages, diverse tribes, and a rich cultural heritage.
The region is abundant with freshwater streams, snow-capped mountain peaks, and sacred sites. It offers tremendous opportunities for trekking and leisure tourism. In the past, high-altitude trekking in the Chenab region was highly popular and well-regarded throughout India. Few Trekking Places are Bhaderwah, Lal Draman, Dal Draman, Desa Trek, Famber Valley, Marwah Trek, Dachaan Trek, Padar, Sinthantop, Warwan Valley, Killar, Panghi, Trek of Blessa and different treks of Bhaderwah and Kellar Valley, Bharat Dhar, Brammah Valley, Sapphire Trek, Warwan Valley etc.

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1 -ARRIVAL JAMMU TO SOUNDER VILLAGE VIA KISHTWAR (270KM/09HRS) – ALTITUDE 1700M
Upon arrival in Jammu, drive towards Sounder Village via Kishtwar. The journey follows the scenic Chenab River before continuing along the Marwah River towards Sounder. On arrival, explore the village and interact with the local community for an authentic glimpse into their lifestyle. Dinner and overnight stay in comfortable tents at Sounder Village.
DAY 2 –TREK /SOUNDER VILLAGE TO GOGUT (12KM - 08hrs) – O/N - ALTITUDE 2430M
After breakfast, begin the trek through farmlands, wooden bridges and dense coniferous forests along the Nath River. Pass through Suid, Honzad and Nath villages, enjoying beautiful valley views and natural surroundings along the way. Continue through the forest to reach Gogut campsite, surrounded by mountains and flowing streams. Dinner and overnight stay in Alpine tents.
DAY 3 – TREK FROM GOGUT TO KAIKUT (8KM -6HRS) - O/N – ALTITUDE 2930M
After breakfast, trek through serene pine forests and along the Nath River towards Kaikut. The trail offers spectacular views of the Brammah Valley, waterfalls and surrounding peaks, with the first glimpses of Eiger, Tarparan and Brammah Wife. After stream crossings and gradual ascents, arrive at the beautiful Kaikut campsite. Enjoy the magnificent mountain views and alpine glow at sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
DAY 4 - TREK FROM KAIKUT TO KIDDAR MAIDAN (4.5KM –3HRS) O/N – ALTITUDE 3630M
Today’s trek takes you towards Kiddar Maidan, passing through meadows and the sacred Hudh Mata Temple, an important pilgrimage site for the local community. Continue through forests, streams and silver birch landscapes as the majestic Brammah I and Brammah Wife peaks come closer into view. Reach Kiddar Maidan, located near Brammah Ridge, the highest point of the trek. Enjoy spectacular mountain views and sunset over the snow-clad peaks. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.
DAY 5 TREK FROM KIDDAR MAIDAN TO HAWAL (ALTITUDE 3330) /(10KM/06HRS)
After breakfast, begin the return trek from Kiddar Maidan, retracing the scenic trail towards Hawal. Continue through the valley and reach the spacious Hawal campsite, surrounded by towering mountains. Relax and enjoy the peaceful alpine surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.
DAY 6 - TREK FROM HAWAL TO SOUNDER VILLAGE (ALTITUDE 1700M) /(14KM/07hrs)
After breakfast, begin the final trek towards Sounder Village. The trail passes through beautiful pine forests, refreshing stream crossings and remote villages, offering a final glimpse of the natural beauty and local culture of the region. On arrival at Sounder, relax and enjoy the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.
DAY 07 – DRIVE FROM SOUNDER TO JAMMU VIA KISHTWAR /JAMMU / DEPARTURE (270KM/9hrs)
After breakfast, drive from Sounder Village towards Jammu via Kishtwar, following the scenic mountain roads and Chenab Valley landscapes. Upon arrival in Jammu, transfer to the airport/railway station for your onward journey, carrying unforgettable memories of the Brammah Valley Trek.
Tour Inclusion
- Equipment: - Camping gear (sleeping bags, mattress, Tree-man dome tents, toilet tent, dining tent, Kitchen tent) - Safety gear (rope, etc) will be provided to each Traveller.
- Meals: - From Day 1, Lunch after reaching at Camp site till breakfast on Day Last.
