The tourism in the valley has witnessed a boom, thanks to the social media. Sitting at the height of over 1600 metres, Tirthan Valley is a treasure chest of picturesque sights. Tirthan Valley got its name from the Tirthan river, which flows through it. The pristine running waters carry the purity of icy cold glaciers of Himalayas.

Despite so many travel companies offering lucrative packages for Tirthan Valley, this place has remained an offbeat destination for the travellers. The valley is popular for fishing, trekking and wildlife observation. If you love the hues of green all around you, Tirthan Valley is no less than salvation for you.

The striking backdrop of Tirthan Valley is filled with sky-touching mountain lined with pine trees. You will also find some exotic species of birds in the valley, to make that perfect click for your Instagram album. The Salasar lake is what dream looks like. In the winters, the lake is surrounded by white snow, imparting a fairy tale look. A 6km trek from the Jalori Pass will take you to these pristine waters, which reflect the blue sky. Another gem Lake Parashar also lies in the Tirthan Valley. The lake is well known for its spiritual history. It is believed that Sage Parashar used to meditate on its banks.

The best time to visit Tirthan Valley is from June to September-October. This is the time when the weather is pleasant and not too harsh. You can also find Apple orchards laden with fruits during this time of the year.

Rafting and Paragliding
After having breakfast at Jibhi campsite, you can drive to nearby Garsa village. After few minutes of exploration, you can head to the paragliding site to let the fun begin. After paragliding, you can go to Jhiri for rafting. After a thrill-laden rafting, you can have lunch and then head to Bhuntar.
